Welcome to OntarioGreenSpec.ca! This site helps you find green building products and services that are available in Ontario. Throughout the site, you’ll see content on the left and help text on the right. 

Follow Steps 1-3 in order, using the help pages to guide you. By Step 3, you’ll have links to email addresses and websites of the companies you need, and you can print or save a report of your discoveries.  And it’s all free, thanks to our members.  See About OntarioGreenSpec for more information about how OntarioGreenSpec.ca can serve your green building needs.

Get Started!

In Step 1 (this screen), click on the category that best corresponds to what you’re looking for. Once you choose a category, you will see more choices within that category (Step 2). If you can’t find what you’re looking for, email us for help.

Note that the categories are based on categories used in Ontario’s leading green building programs (LEED®, ENERGY STAR®, etc). This can result in listings appearing in an unexpected location. E.g. Doors with high insulation values will be under Energy and Atmosphere, because they save energy.

Help
 
You can now narrow your search by sub-category. Click on any sub-category to see a listing of green building products and services within that sub-category.
 
If you see a [+] symbol beside a sub-category, you can click that [+] symbol and see further sub-categories.
 
The number you see in brackets beside the sub-category is the number of green building product and service listings within that sub-category.
 
If you want to pick a different category, click anywhere on the Step 1 area of the web page and start your search over!

Help
  -  Click on the symbol to view the complete listing.

  -  Click on the print icon to add the vendor's information to a list that you can then print or save. Use the buttons at the top of this Help screen to print your list, save or view your list in pdf format, or clear your list.

PDF   -  Click on the PDF icon to save your selections to a PDF file.

website  -  Click on the 'website' link to view the vendor's web site.

email  -  Click on the 'email' link to send an email.

If you want to pick a new category, click anywhere on the Step 1 area of the web page and start your search over! To pick a different sub-category - just click anywhere on the Step 2 area.
